Our Story

The Flying Chicken started as a fun idea among two friends, who grew tired of all of the gimmicky, previously frozen, fried chicken options available to them in Zephyrhills.  In 2020 they decided to begin experimenting with fresh chicken, brines and batters in their home kitchens. Admittingly those first batches weren't anything to brag about, but five years later they finally had something to be proud of.

Today, those two friends are excited to share their passion with you. They realize they're not changing the world with fried chicken, but like to think they've built something that will bring smiles to their customers faces, create opportunities for their community, and remind their children that chasing passion and purpose will always matter more than chasing wealth.

We believe great fried chicken starts long before it hits the fryer.

Our chicken is sourced locally and served fresh, never frozen. We brine it daily in-house, then hand-batter each piece to order.
